On Thursday, Oct. 28, local singers and musicians will host a night of music to help fellow musician Jon Liebing, who has faced some recent health issues. The event will take place from 6:00-10:00 p.m. at Lukins on Varick Street in Utica. Donations will be accepted at the event.

Local musicians scheduled to perform include Mark Barnes (Plastic Soul), Mark Bolos,
Justice McBride Band (unplugged), John Kelsey, Mark Macri with Dave Porter of 805, Spencer Morgan (Last Left), Justin Smithson and Shawn Smith (Poor Tim), and more to be announced.
Liebing has been a fixture on the 315 music scene since the mid-70s, performing in a number of bands, but is best known for his solo acoustic work. He has been especially prolific in the past four years, releasing three albums of mostly original material and performing throughout the area. His latest album, Typical Summer Day, was released in 2020.
Liebing was befallen by a sudden health issue the weekend of Oct. 15 that has left him unable to perform for the time being. Fellow Central New York musicians have banded together to cover his already booked gigs, giving the proceeds of each to Liebing. They have also put together a GoFundMe page to help raise money for Liebing until he can get back on his feet. You can donate to the GoFundMe here.
