It has been a little over a year since Syracuse favorite, Benny Mardones, passed. Struggling with Parkinson’s disease for more than twenty years, Benny never allowed his illness to dictate his ability to perform for his fans in the Syracuse region. The area always held a special place in his heart, and he credits the love of friends and fans alike for his recovery and getting back on track.
Best known for his hit “Into the Night”, he was admired by all that knew and worked alongside him. A true giver, I watched Benny persevere and push through the pain to bring his love of music to those that loved him. Constantly giving back to those causes near and dear to his heart; it is fitting this reciprocal love will be shared Nov. 13 at 7:00 p.m. at The Palace Theater in a tribute to “The Voice,” Benny Mardones.
