Live: The Prodigals Draw Early Crowds at Great NY State Fair

Fairgoers who made it to Chevy Court’s early show on Day 5 of the Great New York State Fair, were treated to a high energy hour of Irish music by The Prodigals, an Irish jig-punk band from NYC.

At the front of the helm is Gregory Grene on accordion and lead vocals, Colin Forhan on guitar, Eamon Ellams on percussion/drums, and Eric Kaye on bass, who was standing in for Sean Tierney their flutist/dancer. This quartet came out hot, and just ramped it up for the full hour set playing a mix of their old and new music! Bringing audience members to their feet dancing and singing along, it didn’t take long to fill in the seats like a pied piper playing his magical notes.

For those of you who may have missed this performance, no fear as they will be back to Syracuse September 8th and 9th at our very own Syracuse Irish Festival in Clinton Square. This free event not only features this amazing band both nights, but several other must see performers.

For more information on this band, their touring schedule and schedule as one of the house bands at Paddy Reilly’s Music Bar in NYC, as well as about the non profit school, The Andrew Grene Foundation, Fair Director Sean Hennessey spoke of during his introduction of the band, please visit www.prodigals.com and www.andrewgrenefoundation.org.
