LIVE: Annie in the Water at Funk ‘n Waffles

Annie in the Water‘s winter tour continued in Syracuse Thursday night in front of a packed house at Funk ‘n Waffles. The Albany/North Country-based jam/funk ensemble was highly energized, excited to be back on stages in front of live people again.

Syracuse alt-rockers All Poets & Heroes opened the show. They have new music on the way shortly as well. Keep track of them here.

The band recently wrapped up its latest studio album Sun at Dawn and featured several songs from it in their two-hour set Thursday night. The set also included fan-favorites “Sativa” and “Time to Play” along with two new-to-them covers, Pearl Jam’s “Even Flow” and Tears for Fears’ “Head Over Heels.” The former featured scorching guitar work from Michael Lashomb while lead singer Bradley Hester channeled his best Eddie Vedder. Watch their performance of “Even Flow” from the Clayton Opera House show on Nov. 24 below.

The first single from the new album, “Bloom” was released on Feb. 4. You can give it a listen below the photo gallery. Annie in the Water has recently signed with Loose Leaf Talent Agency and has an album release party slated for March 4 at The Hollow Bar + Kitchen in Albany.
