Woodsfest Returns to Central New York with Two Days Worth of Music

After a year off due to the pandemic, the third edition of Woodsfest Music
and Arts Festival
is a go for Aug. 7 and 8 at Woods Valley Ski Area near Rome. What began as a one-day showcase for Central New York’s musical talent in 2018, has expanded for 2021 to a two-day regional musical affair.

This year’s festival will again employ two stages, this year moved to the bottom of the Copy Cat trail between the lodge and the chairlift facing up the hill.

Since the last Woodsfest, Woods Valley has undergone extensive renovations including an expanded outside deck and cafeteria on the south side of the main lodge.

Organizers have released the first round of performers including headliners New Hampshire-based reggae band Roots of Creation and Boston-based reggae artist Mighty Mystic.

Other acts lined up for the full weekend of music include returning artists Annie in the Water, Les Brers and Nina’s Brew. New this year is Maddie Walsh & the Blind Spots, the Blind Owl Band, The Reflexions,
Mal Maiz, Vaporeyes, Trampoline Jetstream, Space Junk is Forever, SixFoxWhiskey, Brickdrop, Hanzolo, Disco Risque and Adam Brooks. There will also be two to be announced at-large artists on-site all weekend. Additional performers will be announced soon.

Woodsfest is a family-friendly event held at Woods Valley Ski Area on NYS Route 46 in Westernville, just north of Rome. In addition to the music, there will also be many vendors, food trucks and craft beverages on site.

Woodsfest will be following COVID protocols in place at the time of the event. Tickets will be sold in socially distanced pods and available beginning next week.
