The Uptown Shutdown Showcase Features Food, Music & Comedy
Fire up your computers and join The Uptown Theatre for the Uptown Shutdown Showcase, an evening of at-home entertainment: music, comedy, good food, human interaction, a look at the Uptown’s history, and an exclusive first look at what’s to come; all to raise funds for the historic venue. The Uptown was recently added to the National Register of Historic Places.
The ticket price includes a wonderful “Grazing Board” from The Tailor and the Cook. Three fantastic New York State cheeses and three charcuterie selections complete with spreads, vegetables, pickles, fruits, house-made crackers, and all the accouterments, and even a few sweet treats! Vegetarian and gluten-free options are available!
Also included are two curated bottles of New York State wine to enjoy with the grazing board compliments of Bremer’s Wine & Liquor. This is not just an appetizer – consider this your dinner – this board easily serves two.
Throughout the night, music performances by LeekyXIV, Monk Rowe, and Al Schnier (from moe.), as well as comedy from Cortland Cloos, Brendan McGurk, and the Uptown Improv Company will keep viewers entertained.
All proceeds benefit Uptown Theatre for Creative Arts, the nonprofit organization lovingly restoring the Uptown Theatre. Since March 2020, UTCA has been closed for the prolonged pandemic shut down and needs community support to keep the dream alive.
Tickets for the event are $100 and available through Friday, March 19 at the Uptown Theatre website here.
