LIVE: Easton Corbin at Keg’s Canalside in Jordan
A snowstorm didn’t stop Easton Corbin from showing Keg’s Canalside in Jordan, NY how to do country right on March 3rd.
The parking lot packed with big trucks and other four-wheel drive vehicles was evidence that the crowd was ready to have fun despite the snow.
Before Easton Corbin took the stage, Chris Taylor and the Custom Taylor band got the party started with their hour-long set. In true party fashion Taylor had a cowboy boot-shaped beer mug in hand for the first few songs. They played a great mix of country covers from Bailey Zimmerman’s “Rock and a Hard Place” to the mic drop ending cover of The Charlie Daniels Band’s “The Devil Went Down to Georgia.” The band also sprinkled their set with a few originals that Chris Taylor recorded in Nashville showcasing their true talent as local artists.
After a short set change, Easton Corbin burst onto the stage and began his hour-and-a-half set with “Somebody’s Gotta Be Country” from his latest album Let’s Do Country Right. This got the crowd moving as he went into his hit “Lovin’ You Is Fun.” Corbin continued with other hits like “Clockwork” and “I Can’t Love You Back” before going into his new single “Marry That Girl.”
A highlight of the show was when Corbin slowed things down a bit and went into his fan-favorite song “Are You With Me.” This was one of the moments where Corbin shined on stage showing his ability to sing a ballad incredibly.
During each song, Corbin engaged regularly with as many fans as he could. Toward the end of his set, he did a cover of Alan Jackson’s “Good Time.” During this song, each member of the band took their own solo with the song of their choice. This entertained the crowd, especially when Corbin’s drummer, Gregg Lohman, started striking his cowbell going into a mini rendition of Blue Oyster Cult’s “Don’t Fear the Reaper.”
Corbin concluded his set with his bigger radio hits “Baby Be My Love Song” and “All Over The Road.” Once Corbin’s set was over you could tell by the smiles on his fans’ faces, that they were gleeful they didn’t let a snowstorm keep them from venturing out to his show.
You can catch Easton Corbin on tour supporting his new album Let’s Do Country Right through the summer. You can see him again in New York when he rolls back through to Binghamton on April 21 at Touch Of Texas.
