Syracuse Area Music Awards Announces Press Conference, Bridge Street Performances, and People’s Choice Voting
The 2023 Syracuse Area Music Awards (SAMMYS) Press Conference will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 7, at 10 am at the Palace Theater on James Street in Syracuse.
The organization also announced its 2023 People’s Choice online voting. Everyone is encouraged to vote daily for their favorite Central NY Artist or Band, Music Series or Event, Venue, and Academic or Musical Organization. Voting Ends Sunday, Feb 26 with the winners announced at the awards ceremony on March 3.

NewsChannel 9 will again host the SAMMYS Spotlight Series Thursdays at 10 am on Bridge Street. Performers scheduled to appear:
- Jan 26 – 315 Cash
- Feb 2 – J. Schnitt
- Feb 9 – Mark Nanni
- Feb 16 – Nick Fields Trio
- Feb 23 – Plan Bee– Baldwinsville High School School Pep Band
- Mar 2 – Larry Hoyt
Save The Dates! 2023 Syracuse Area Music Awards
This year’s Hall of Fame Ceremony, which includes honors for Educator and Lifetime Achievement, will be held on Thursday, March 2 Upstairs at the Dinosaur on Franklin Street in Syracuse. Past SAMMY Hall of Fame inductees include Lou Reed, moe., Paul Case, Savoy Brown, Fritz’s Polka Band, and Benny Mardones.
The SAMMYS Awards Show returns to the Palace Theatre on Friday, March 3, with musical performances from area artists and bands. Tickets and live stream information will be announced at the Feb. 7 Press Conference.
