After being postponed for a week, the Disco Biscuits played a two-night run at Saranac Brewery in Utica on September 30 and October 1.
The first night had a chill in the air and the second was a little warmer but on both nights, the band was hot. Two high-energy shows kept the crowds moving, dancing to the slick grooves and epic jams the Biscuits threw down.
Creative Concerts brought Utica its first Biscuits show ever and, as they say, good things come to those who wait. As the last shows to be held at Saranac Brewery for the season, this year’s return of live music to the venue ended on a well-deserved high note.
The Disco Biscuits’ positive energy and vibe were the perfect compliment to a crowd, and to a city that was more than happy to brave the autumn cold and love them some live music again on the west side. Add in an appearance by local-boy-done-good guitar legend, Al Schnier of moe., for an incredibly funky cover of “Shakedown Street,” it’s safe to say this long-awaited run didn’t disappoint a soul.
