The award-winning and globally known Foreigner brought the energy regardless of the 80° day in Syracuse Sunday. The packed fairgrounds resulted in a sea of showgoers who were groovin’ to the beat of the British-American rock band.

Some of the die-hard fans showed up as early as 4 pm to get a spot for the 8 pm start. Prior to Foreigner taking the stage, a local choir from the Edmeston Central School had the opportunity to open for the band. The choir was made up of 21 students who sang three songs, one of which was Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believin’.”

As the sun went down the lights got brighter. The crowd erupted as the members of Foreigner appeared from the shadows. When the spotlight hit lead vocalist Kelly Hansen, the energy came to life. Those who braved the hot weather ended the night thirsty for more rock music.
