Show Preview: Legendary King Crimson Brings Their “Music Is Our Friend” Tour to CMAC

Coming up this August 26, the multi-faceted, talented progressive rock giants, King Crimson, bring their “Music Is Our Friend” tour to the Constellation Brands-Marvin Sands Performing Arts Center located in the scenic Canandaigua area of upstate New York.

Formed in London, England in 1968 by Robert Fripp, Michael Giles, and Greg Lake (Emerson, Lake and Palmer) the band is most well-known for having a strong influence on the early 1970’s progressive rock movement. The band can be credited with inspiring artists Yes and Genesis along with a fair amount of hits like “21st CenturySchizoid Man”, “Epitaph”, and “Cat Food” to name a few.

Although the lineup has changed significantly over the years, original founding member Robert Fripp is still at the helm, and he is bringing some other talented musicians on this run including, Jakko Jakszyk (Guitar, Vocals), Mel Collins (Saxes, Flute), Tony Levin (Bass, Stick, Backing Vocals), Pat Mastelotto (Acoustic And Electronic Percussion), Gavin Harrison (Acoustic And Electronic Percussion), and Jeremy Stacey (Acoustic And Electronic Percussion, Keyboards).

To round out the tour, King Crimson is bringing along another familiar cast of great musicians as their opening act, The Zappa Band.  This will definitely be a great night of music that you don’t want to miss.

You can pick up your tickets at various outlets.  The music starts at 7:00 p.m.
