moe. Hints at Vernon Downs Show

Could moe. be performing a drive-in style show at Vernon Downs this summer? A quick look at their Facebook feed Wednesday afternoon would lead one to believe so.

The post has an image of a trotter and jockey with a psychedelic background and captioned with the hashtag #moesmiraclemile. Vernon Downs is a harness racing track located in Central New York known as the Miracle Mile.

In a year that has seen the concert industry turned on its head because of COVID-19, music industry professionals have been looking for alternate ways to get back to putting on live events. Drive-in type shows are starting to become de riguer. Aqueous recently performed a drive-in show at an actual drive-in in Lockport over Father’s Day weekend.

Vernon Downs would be a prime location for just such an event. The venue was highly considered to host the 50th anniversary of Woodstock last year before running into legal stumbling blocks. Vernon has also played host in the past to shows by Bruce Springsteen, HORDE Tour, Phish and The Dead with Willie Nelson and moe. The members of moe. all hail from this part of New York and though they have all ventured to different places since their salad days, the 315 has always been home.

Each of the band’s moe.down festivals have been held in Central New York, beginning at Snow Ridge Ski Area in Turin and venturing to Gelston Castle in Mohawk briefly before returning to Snow Ridge.

moe. also frequently performs shows at Utica’s Saranac Brewery.

Details have yet to emerge as to dates, times and logistics but the Miracle Mile hint is a strong indicator that moe. is primed to hit the stage again.

This is a developing story. Stay with 315 Music for further updates.
