Saranac Cancels Thursday Night and Concert Series

One of Central New York’s rites of summer has been canceled thanks to the novel coronavirus. In a statement issued through social media, the Saranac Brewery announced the cancellation of it’s annual Saranac Thursday series as well as its successful concert series through at least July 15. At this point, the only announced show affected in the brewery’s concert series is Almost Queen, which was scheduled for June 6. Led Zeppelin tribute act Get the Led Out is scheduled to perform on July 31.

The statement from the brewery refers to the many inquiries received as to the status of the annual summer tradition:

While we are looking forward to having a beer with you, in accordance with guidelines issued by the department of health our events will be canceled until at least July 15 and likely longer. For now, that means we will have to wait to have a beer together – thank you for all your support and stay safe #staysafe #wemissyou

The spread of the novel coronavirus has led to the cancellation of many live events across the country. Those that haven’t been canceled are still in limbo as organizers and promoters await word from the CDC and state and local governments to resume group activities.
