In the final week of their American tour, Celtic favorites, The High Kings packed the historic Homer Center for the Arts for a sold-out show. This historic venue, once a Baptist Church, now promotes the arts, music, and events in the Homer community; and was the perfect setting for these beloved musicians from Ireland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The intimate setting allowed for carefree banter between the audience and musicians throughout the evening as they performed crowd favorites such as “The Irish Rover,” “Grace,” and “Black Velvet Band.” Their harmonies melded perfectly, and when they began playing “Rocky Road to Dublin,” the crowd got on their feet to sing and dance along.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The group was joined by the Edward P. Maloney Memorial Pipe Band<\/a> out of Binghamton, on their final number, “Parting Glass.” It was the perfect ending to a perfect evening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
