One of country music’s rising stars will make his New York State Fair debut on Wednesday, Aug. 25. Russell Dickerson will take over the Chevy Court stage for a 7 p.m. performance. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dickerson’s first four singles have gone to number one on the Billboard Country Airplay Chart. He is touring in support of his second LP Southern Symphony<\/em> which was released in December 2020. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prior to COVID Dickerson was something of a road warrior, criss-crossing the country opening tours for Thomas Rhett, Lady A, Keith Urban and Kane Brown among others. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dickerson played the very last concert that I attended prior to the shutdown. On March 6, 2020, he played to a sold-out Times Union Center as part of Kane Brown’s “Worldwide Beautiful” tour. The very next day, a state of emergency was declared and all live music in New York State was shelved. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now live music is not only back, it is thriving. This concert is part of a lineup of more than 50 national touring shows presented in the Chevrolet Music Festival, the largest free music festival at any state fair in America.
