The March 5 ceremony, which normally takes place at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.palaceonjames.com\/\">Palace Theater<\/a> in Eastwood, will instead be live-streamed from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.subcat.net\/\">SubCat Studios<\/a> in Syracuse and will include performances by area musicians along with the award presentations. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Awards will be presented in 12 recording categories as well as the People&#8217;s Choice Award in four categories, the Brian Bourke Award for Best New Artist, the Jack O. Bocchino Spirit of the SAMMYS Award and the Community Spirit Award. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"352\" src=\"https:\/\/315music.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/sammys-2021-screenshot-2-1024x352.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3528\" srcset=\"https:\/\/315music.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/sammys-2021-screenshot-2-1024x352.png 1024w, https:\/\/315music.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/sammys-2021-screenshot-2-300x103.png 300w, https:\/\/315music.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/sammys-2021-screenshot-2-768x264.png 768w, https:\/\/315music.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/sammys-2021-screenshot-2.png 1328w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Syracuse area artists can begin submitting their work for consideration beginning Dec. 1. In a change from previous years, all submissions will be handled electronically only this year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Only commercially released work available on Apple Music, Spotify or Tidal that was released between Jan. 1 and Dec. 31, 2020, by Syracuse area artists will be considered. Submissions will be accepted until Jan. 6.
