Tickets are going quickly for the third F.I.R.E. Festival<\/a>, hosted for the first time this Sunday by the beautiful Center for the Arts of Homer<\/a>. The acronym stands for Females. Inspire. Rock. Empower. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event, put together by local musician Jess Novak, is intentionally planned for a Sunday afternoon from 2-6 pm so that children can also attend. It\u2019s also taking place in March as part of an ongoing celebration of Women\u2019s History Month and International Women’s Day, which falls on March 8.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Performers for the event include Amanda Rogers, Ashley Cox, Jess Novak, Caitlin Barry, Sarah Blujus, Peg Newell and more to be announced. Collaborations among musicians and dance groups should bring stunning surprises.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vendors and artists in attendance include Slit Weave, Anna With Intention, Michelle Darin, Artisan Elements Collective, Clay Design By K, SoulCrafting, Pam\u2019s Crafty Corner, Margot Elizabeth, AzureEyes Photography, Golden Age Reiki, Wildebeest Publishing and more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhen I was young, I didn\u2019t see women playing instruments and running businesses,\u201d festival founder Jess Novak says. \u201cI want to provide a place where young girls can see women doing and creating whatever they want so they know they can too.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
