LIVE: Journey at CMAC

From your local jukebox to a packed amphitheater, Journey always finds their way through the speakers.

If you were looking to kick off your work week with a party, CMAC was the place to be on Monday with a packed house for the legendary band, Journey.

The 2022 Freedom Tour made a stop in Canandaigua for fans across New York. The venue’s beer crew made its way through the aisles and FLCC’s New Media students focused their cameras for production while the American rock band built suspense around their delayed start to the evening. The 45-minute wait resulted in a setting sun and a full house before the band’s first note.

It’s hard to describe what Journey has accomplished for the rock music industry, so we will let the twenty-five gold and platinum albums speak for themselves.

The band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame back in 2017, and they proved why to fans on Monday. Sure, the night lacked an opening act or two, but that didn’t prevent fans from getting out of their seats with the energy they brought in a solo show. The cool summer nights in the finger lakes are made for shows like Journey which tends to bring the heat.
